Taylors and RedView Acuity

With offices in Blackburn, Manchester and Lancashire, Taylors Legal Services is one of the few UK firms that focus on commercial law in the North West. Managing Partner Elaine Hurn discusses how Taylors have used RedView Acuity to get a stronger understanding of their firm’s position and control the important financial data within the business.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Elaine explains that her firm needed a system to better understand the overall performance of the firm and to make KPIs easily visible to fee earners. Adding RedView Acuity to the equation was logical. ‘When it came to us, it was straightforward adapt it to our business, which was really positive.’

CHALLENGES
‘Our business is quite different from a regular firm setup,’ Elaine says. ‘We have a smaller
number of clients who all have multiple jobs running concurrently. The great thing was that RedView listened to us and matched their product to our needs.’ Elaine found that configuring the array of reporting charts significantly changed how RedView was applied to their business. There was a range of options available, now it’s all up and running and matches what we do.

HOW REDVIEW HELPED
‘From a fee earner’s viewpoint, it’s great that they can see the charts that relate to them,’ Elaine said. ‘It really helps the lawyers who aren’t necessarily “numbers” people. Simple graphs give them a quick snapshot of their performance without the need for more complex numerical breakdowns.’ Elaine likes how her feedback is being heard. ‘We make suggestions and they listen, sometimes modifying the product. We feel supported.’

RESULTS, ROI AND FUTURE PLANS
Before landing on RedView, Taylors was struggling to find the right product to analyse their numbers. Has RedView helped to get a better feel for how the business is travelling? ‘Yes, it has,’ Elaine said. ‘It’s helped us considerably - without it we’d be flying blind.’
